This is part 2 of our Carea Cream formula update. If you're receiving this email, you've been a loyal Carea Cream customer.

So, why a new Carea Cream formula? After the original Carea Cream launched in May 2021, we received some customer feedback about pilling (this is when a product balls up as you rub it into skin). Along the way, we transferred the production of Carea Cream to a new lab and took the opportunity to address this feedback. We fully resolved the pilling—but this resulted in a texture change from a full-bodied lotion to a milky fluid. The updated formula delivered the same benefits, but many of you missed the original texture, so we hit the lab again. 🥼

After many rounds of revisions and testing, we are excited to deliver the best of both worlds: deep moisture and softening benefits in an easy-to-spread, quick-to-absorb, creamy texture. While the ingredient list has been refreshed (which includes things like thickeners, stabilizers, and even some additional humectants), the concentration of hero ingredients—10% urea, 5% squalane, 1% colloidal oatmeal—remain the same. The newest formula has been a labor of love that we’re so excited to share with you. Third time's the charm—Goldilocks said so!

The updated Carea Cream goes live on the site tomorrow 11/24. You’ll notice it’s currently out of stock, but it will become available to add to cart on Monday—which is also when our Black Friday sale kicks off.

P.S. This transition will be gradual at Sephora. If you’re shopping in store, check the ingredient list on the product carton. If the last ingredient listed is citric acid, that is the new formula. Otherwise, you can assume it is the previous (milky) version. If you’re shopping online, we estimate Sephora.com will have the new formula by end of the year.
